Keep domain renewals and DNS changes under control
Domain administration becomes fragile when the account owner, renewal date and current nameservers are known only to one person. A small register can make responsibilities visible.

Set up the record
Record the registrar, account owner, expiry date and renewal setting for every domain. Confirm that the owner can access the account through the organisation’s approved process. Keep credentials outside the register.
Use it in the workflow
Before a DNS change, note the previous value, proposed value, TTL and approver. After the change, record how it was verified. Keep an appropriate rollback plan for changes that affect email or customer access.
Review and maintain
Review renewal dates before they become urgent. The template does not purchase domains, resolve private names, edit DNS or renew anything automatically.
Apply the routine with your own records.
Your domain list, registrar records, renewal dates and current DNS ownership. Start with a small working copy so the team can agree field meanings before adding its full record set.
Keep a blank master, nominate an owner and decide when the records will be reviewed. If the workflow needs automatic validation, shared permissions or integration with another system, treat that as a separate software requirement.
This guide supports the stated manual workflow. It is not a substitute for your organisation’s approved procedures or professional advice where required.
