How to run a weekly sales follow-up review
A useful lead register tells you what needs to happen next. A contact list alone cannot show which enquiry is waiting on a price, a site visit or a customer decision.

Set up the record
Start with one agreed set of stages: new enquiry, qualified, quoted, decision pending and closed. Give each active lead an owner and a next action with a date. Use the weekly review to decide actions rather than simply read the list aloud.
Use it in the workflow
Before calling a prospect, check the last contact and whether the proposed follow-up is appropriate. Record outcomes in plain language. A lost opportunity is still useful history when the reason is clear.
Review and maintain
At the end of each week, review overdue actions, stalled quotations and deals that no longer have a realistic next step. Keep measured amounts separate from estimates; this manual pack does not forecast revenue.
Apply the routine with your own records.
Your existing enquiries, agreed sales stages, named owners and follow-up dates. Start with a small working copy so the team can agree field meanings before adding its full record set.
Keep a blank master, nominate an owner and decide when the records will be reviewed. If the workflow needs automatic validation, shared permissions or integration with another system, treat that as a separate software requirement.
This guide supports the stated manual workflow. It is not a substitute for your organisation’s approved procedures or professional advice where required.
