Write an API handover another developer can use
An API handover should explain behaviour at the boundaries, including errors. A list of endpoint URLs leaves too much for the receiving developer to guess.

Set up the record
Record each operation, method, path, authentication type, fields and expected responses. Use synthetic examples. Keep secrets in an approved vault rather than in the documentation or test rows.
Use it in the workflow
Create acceptance cases for success, invalid input, permission failures and repeated requests. Agree timeout and retry behaviour, especially where a request can create an order or payment.
Review and maintain
Assign an owner for unresolved questions and retain test evidence with the handover. These files do not generate an API, run tests or establish a security certification.
Apply the routine with your own records.
Endpoint requirements, synthetic examples, expected error cases and technical owners. Start with a small working copy so the team can agree field meanings before adding its full record set.
Keep a blank master, nominate an owner and decide when the records will be reviewed. If the workflow needs automatic validation, shared permissions or integration with another system, treat that as a separate software requirement.
This guide supports the stated manual workflow. It is not a substitute for your organisation’s approved procedures or professional advice where required.
