Why jewellery has a making charge
A finished piece involves design, forming, joining, finishing and other work beyond its gold content. A seller may quote workmanship as a fixed amount or on another stated basis. Ask how the amount has been calculated. There is no universal making-charge figure that SFE can safely insert for all Kanika products.
Ask which weight is chargeable
Request the weight used for the gold calculation and any separate stone or component charges. If a quote lists only total weight, ask whether that includes non-gold components. For a pair or set, confirm whether the weight and quote cover the whole set or one piece.
Keep the quote itemised
